Credentials:
CJ holds NICET Level IV certification in Fire Alarm, NICET Level I in Special Hazards, and NICET Level II in Inspection and Testing, along with numerous city licenses and industry certifications. He is also a General Radio Operator License (GROL) holder and serves as a board member for both the Rocky Mountain SFPE and the Notifier by Honeywell Advisory Committee.
CJ began his career in the fire industry immediately after high school in 1992, following in the footsteps of his father, a retired Assistant Chief with the West Metro Fire Protection District. He earned his associate’s degree in Fire Science Technology and was hired as a Firefighter/EMT the same year.
While serving as a firefighter, CJ took on a part-time role as a fire extinguisher technician, which sparked his interest in the private sector. Over time, he advanced through various roles and shifted his focus to fire alarm systems and business operations. In 2004, CJ was promoted to Vice President and Partner at Fire Protection Service Corporation. After 24 years with the company, he co-founded Vulcan Fire in 2018 with his business partner, Todd Wagner.
